MOVEMENT : Gilded verge movement, signed and numbered (3419) with pierced and engraved “lace edge'” balance cock. This “lace edge” is typical of the the period a few years either side of 1760. Clean, good condition and running well.

DIAL : White enamel, in reasonable condition, with some surface scratches, cracks around 3, and damage around the catch at 6. Later blued steel hands.

INNER CASE : Gilt/brass with some wear to the gilding but no damage or repairs. The hinge is fine and the case snaps shut. High dome bull's eye crystal in good condition.

OUTER CASE : Gilt/brass with shell or horn covering. Good colour. The back has one tiny chip and a few short cracks but generally good (only one pin missing). The bezel has a couple of cracks and a small area of restoration near the neck (again only one pin missing). The hinge and catch are fine and the case closes nicely.
