All in good original condition and running well.

DIAL : Silver champleve dial in good condition, with just a few light scratches. Signed “Hayward, LONDON”. Fancy gilt hands.

INNER CASE : Silver, rubbed maker's marks, but no hallmarks. In good condition, though the stem and bow are later so have been reattached and the silver around the stem reinforced.

The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut nicely. The high dome bull's eye crystal is in very good condition.

OUTER CASE : Silver repousse pair case, again with no hallmarks. The hinge, catch button and catch are fine and the case closes correctly. There is some wear to the high points of the repousse work, and a few pin holes but generally in quite good condition.

There is a William Hayward listed in London who was apprenticed in 1713 and in the Clockmakers' Company from 1720.
