Gilt & shell pair cases
Verge movement

Sold

MOVEMENT : Nicely gilded movement, beautifully engraved and pieced balance cock with large diamond endstone. The movement is signed (A. Lanchaud, Oxford Street) and numbered (1184). The movement is in good condition and is running well.

DIAL : The white enamel dial is about 41 mm in diameter and in good condition except for a number of fine hairlines radiating from near 4 o’clock.
Excellent matching gold hands (not reproductions).

INNER CASE : Some wear to the gilding on the outside and a small dent near the winding hole on the back. The bow and pendant are fine without the usual repair to the case. The hinge is fine and the case snaps shut nicely. The high dome bull’s eye crystal is also fine.

OUTER CASE : Gorgeous outer case of underpainted horn or shell. The gilding and colours under the horn bezel and back are still bright. In exceptional condition with one tiny chip on the bezel and a short crack (1.5cm) down from the neck. 7 pins missing from the bezel and 18 from the back. The hinge has an old repair to one sleeve though works fine. The catch and release button are complete and the case closes nicely.
