This is a large and impressive Swiss silver cased pocket watch, with verge movement, quarter and hour repeating, made around 1800.
MOVEMENT : Signed Farjon & Ce. The beautifully gilded movement is running well. The repeater strikes the hours on one gong and the quarters on two gongs. A slide on the outside of the case locks the repeat plunger.
DIAL : The enamel dial is also signed Farjon & Compe a Geneve. It has one short hairline from the edge at 5 and a few more around 3. The bull’s eye crystal is fine.
CASE : The large silver case is about 59mm in diameter. The inner gilded brass dustcap is signed Farjon & Ce. A GENEVE, and numbered 9818. The inside of the silver dustcap has Swiss silver hallmarks. All catches and hinges are fine. The case is in fine condition no damage, excessive wear or repairs.
