This is a silver cased verge, with glazed back and skeleton movement, made by James Thims, in London, around 1800.
MOVEMENT : The gilded verge fusee skeleton movement is in excellent condition. Nice 6 spoked balance wheel and exposed main spring. It is signed and numbered (4937).
DIAL : The white enamel dial is about 37 mm in diameter. It is in excellent condition with a some surface scratches and no repairs. Fine gilt beetle and poker hands.
CASE : Diameter 43.5 mm. No hallmarks or makers mark. Good overall condition with no repairs and just a few light bruises and scratches. Both high dome bull’s eye crystals are fine with no damage. The hinge and catch are fine and the case snaps shut, though not quite flush.
