Cylinder movement
Sold
Impressive and good quality English cylinder movement, with subsidiary seconds dial and stop lever, in fine rose gold pair cases.
MOVEMENT : The high quality gilded cylinder fusee movement, with finely engraved balance cock, 5 spoke balance wheel and diamond endstone, is in fine condition and is running well. It is signed and numbered (2071). The movement is protected by a removable gilt brass dustcap. The stop lever on the side of the case stops and starts the movement.
DIAL : The light cream enamel dial is about 45.5 mm in diameter. It is marked with the same serial number as the movement (2071). It is in very good condition with just two very light hairlines from the centre towards 12 and 7 but no chips, scratches or repairs. These hairlines are almost invisible.
INNER CASE : Diameter 50.25 mm. Hallmarks for 18ct gold, London, 1809, maker MC. Good condition with no repairs or damage. Good high dome crystal with no scratches or other damage. The case snaps shut nicely.
OUTER CASE : Diameter 57 mm. Gold hallmarks matching the inner. The hinge and catch are again fine and the case snaps shut. Excellent overall condition with no damage or wear, except for one small scratch on the back.
