MOVEMENT : Verge fusee movement, with engraved and pierced balance cock. Two barrels, wound separately, with the fusee winding square through the balance cock. The balance wheel has asymmetric arms and one single short counter balanced arm to accommodate the fusee square. The movement is signed ‘T. Williamson, London’ and is numbered (2952). It is running well. The alarm operates two hammers which strike the bell which is attached to the inner case. The alarm function is also working well.

DIAL : White enamel dial, 40.5 mm. In very good condition with no repairs, but some light surface scratches around the centre, and a shallow chip (flake) on the edge at 12 o’clock. Nice 18th century gold beetle and poker hands and blued steel alarm hand. The dial is marked, on the back, with the movement serial number (2952).

INNER CASE : Beautifully pierced and engraved, silver plate on copper, 47.75 mm in diameter. Marked under the bell with the movement serial number (2952), as is the dial. Good overall condition, with no repairs or dents and just a little wear to the silver plate around the bezel and bow. The hinge is fine and the case closes. Good high dome bull’s eye crystal with no damage.

OUTER CASE : Pierced and engraved, silver plate on copper, 56.65 mm in diameter. Maker’s mark TH. Again in good condition, with no repairs or dents and just some wear to the silver plate around the bezel, edges and catch button. The hinge is fine and the case snaps shut.
