Good early English verge, in exceptional condition.
MOVEMENT : Fully signed. Gilt brass verge movement, with four square pillars and beautifully engraved balance cock and plate. In exceptionally fine, original condition. Complete and running well.
DIAL : 40 mm. Silver champleve dial, in wonderful untouched condition. Signed (Birley, Sheffield). Nice original early 18th century steel hands.
INNER CASE : 49.75 mm. Maker’s mark RB. The hinge is fine and the case snaps shut nicely. Excellent condition throughout. High dome bull’s eye crystal also fine.
OUTER CASE : 57.5 mm. Matching maker’s mark to the inner. Again in very good condition. The large square hinge and catch are fine.
