Gilt/shagreen pair cases

MOVEMENT : Gilded verge fusee movement, with engraved and pierced balance cock. Signed and numbered (179). Very good, clean condition, gilding still bright, and running well.
DIAL : White enamel, 38.5 mm in diameter. A beautiful, lightly later, dial (c1750) in wonderful condition with no repairs and just one tiny flake on the edge at 4. Excellent, original 18th century, gold beetle and poker hands.
INNER CASE : Gilt/brass, 44.25 mm in diameter. Good condition with much of the gilding still present. The hinge is fine and the case closes nicely. Good high dome bull’s eye crystal with no damage.
OUTER CASE : Gilt/shagreen, 52.25 mm in diameter. The hinge and catch are fine and the case closes nicely. The shagreen covering is unrestored. Some pieces missing from the bezel, mostly around the catch. On the back about half of the shagreen cover is absent.
