INNER CASE : 51.25 mm. Gilt brass. Signed V&Co. Very good condition, with very little wear to the gilding. A few scratches on the crystal but no chips or cracks. The hinge is good and the case snaps shut nicely.
OUTER CASE : 57.25 mm. Gilt brass, signed as the inner. Some wear to the gilding around the edge of the back, but otherwise fine. The hinge and catch are fine and the case closes nicely.
The outer case contains an interesting watchpaper from the original maker (Rule, Kelso). Walter Rule is listed in Kelso from 1773. He died in 1829.
