MOVEMENT : The high quality gilded cylinder fusee movement, with finely engraved balance cock, blued screws and diamond endstone, is in fine condition and is running well. It is signed (Thos. Hawkins, Royal Exchange, London) and numbered (1042). The movement is protected by a removable gilt brass dustcap.
DIAL : The white enamel dial is about 44.25 mm in diameter. It is in reasonable condition with no repairs but hairlines on the edge at 1 and 2 and small chips, again on the edge at 6. Nice matching gold hands.
INNER CASE : Diameter 57.35 mm. Hallmarks for 18ct gold, London, 1802, maker IR. Good condition with no repairs and just 3 small dings on the back. Good high dome crystal with no scratches or other damage. The case snaps shut nicely.
OUTER CASE : Diameter 54 mm. Gold hallmarks matching the inner. The hinge and catch are again fine and the case snaps shut. Excellent overall condition with just one small ding on the back.
The cases, excluding movement and crystal, weigh 58 gms.
