An excellent little gold and enamel verge, with fine dial and beautiful painted portrait.

MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement in good, clean condition and working well. Signed “Moricand & Compe.” and numbered (4769.

DIAL : 31.5 mm. This wonderful little signed white enamel dial is in perfect condition with no repairs or damage. Nice matching hands.

CASE : 37.85 mm. Multicoloured gold, with seed pearl bezel and painted panel on the back. The high dome crystal is fine. The hinges and catch are all good, with just a small dent to the catch button. The pearls are all present, though some are worn and discoloured with age. The portrait on the back has been beautifully done and is painted, not printed. Some of the varnish has worn from the surface but fortunately the painting itself is fine.

Moricand & Compagnie are listed in Geneva from about 1790 until the early 19th century.
