Gilt pair cases
Verge movement
Sold
MOVEMENT : Fully signed (Dwerrihouse, Berkley Square) and numbered (1447). Gilded verge movement with engraved and pierced balance cock, diamond endstone and removable signed gilt brass dustcap. Good condition and complete but not running. The balance does swing but not running so needs some work on the balance. Everything else appears ok.
DIAL : 42.5 mm, white enamel. Nice condition with just some tiny hairlines around 6.
INNER CASE : 46.5 mm. Gilt brass. Maker’s mark ID and also stamped with the movement serial number 1447. Very good condition with no dents. A little wear to the gilding, mainly to the bow. The hinge is fine and the close snaps shut. The high dome bull’s eye crystal is fine.
OUTER CASE : 54.5mm. No marks. One small dent on the back and some wear to the gilding. The bezel is sprung, so springs open when the tiny button on the side is pressed. This is a very unusual feature for a watch of this early date.
Dwerrihouse is listed at Berkley square, London around 1800.
