Fine, small, English verge movement, in excellent gold pair cases, all in fine condition.

MOVEMENT : Good quality gilded verge fusee movement, with finely engraved balance cock and blued screws. All in good original condition and running well. Fully signed (Francis Perigal, Bond Street, London) and numbered (392).

DIAL : The white enamel dial is about 32.5 mm in diameter. It is in perfect condition except for some very light surface scratches. Later brass hands.

INNER CASE : Diameter 36.2 mm. Hallmarks for 22ct gold, London, 1780, maker IW. Very good condition with just a couple of very shallow small dents on the back. The case snaps shut nicely. The high dome crystal has a few small scratches but no chips or cracks.

OUTER CASE : Diameter 42.5 mm. Gold hallmarks matching the inner. The hinge and catch are again fine and the case snaps shut. In very fine condition.

Francis Perigal is listed in New Bond Street, London from 1770. He was in the Clockmaker’s Company from 1781 and Watchmaker to the King.
