MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with particularly finely engraved and pierced balance cock and plate. Jewelled endstone. Fully signed and numbered (10340). In good condition and running well, though the top pivot on the balance wheel has been replaced.
DIAL : Fine signed silver champleve dial in very good condition. Nice original 18th century blued steel continental type hands.
INNER CASE : Silver, no hallmarks, but rubbed maker’s mark IRG? and movement serial number 10340. In very good condition, though the stem and bow are later (the stem is held firmly by some adhesive on the inside – could be improved). The hinge is fine and the bezel closes well. Good high dome crystal with no damage.
OUTER CASE : Silver pair case. The hinge is fine and the case snaps shut nicely. The catch button has worn down, and there are a few very small bruises, but generally in very nice condition.
Terrot and Thuillier are listed in Geneva during the mid 18th century.
