MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with finely engraved and pierced balance cock, silver regulator disk diamond endstone, and four square pillars. Signed and numbered ‘1579’.

The movement is protected by a removable signed gilt dustcap, also signed and numbered as the movewment.

All in fine and complete original condition and running well.

DIAL : Fine white enamel dial, in excellent condition with no repairs or hairlines, and just a few small surface scratches. Fancy gold hands.

INNER CASE : 22 ct. gold, with hallmarks for London, 1766, maker’s mark ‘IH’. A few light bruises around the band and light scratches on the back but in generally good condition. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut nicely. Good high dome bull’s eye crystal. The pendant and bow appear to be original.

OUTER CASE : A fine 22ct. gold pair case, with wonderful repousse work. A little wear to the high points of the repousse work. The hinge, catch and catch button are all fine and the bezel snaps shut nicely.

The gold cases weigh 53 gms (excluding movement and crystal).

The outer case contains a charming early embroidered liner, with the motto ‘HOPE REVIVETH THE SPIRIT’.
