This is a fine quality London cylinder, quarter repeating, in an 18 carat rose gold case..
MOVEMENT : Good quality gilded cylinder fusee movement, with finely engraved balance cock and diamond endstone. Unusually oversprung balance. All in good original condition, with a few scratches, mostly around the pillar tops. Running well and repeating correctly. Signed (Barwick, LONDON) and numbered (1342).
The repeat, activated by depressing the pendant, strikes single chimes for the hours, and doubles for the quarters, on two steel gongs.
DIAL : The white enamel dial is in reasonable condition, though with repairs on the edge at 3 & 9, and around the central aperture. Blued steel hands.
CASE : 18ct rose gold, with London hallmarks for 1811, and maker’s mark SB. Plain back and milled band. Both inner and outer back covers are hallmarked. The crystal and hinges are all fine and both covers and bezel snap shut correctly. All in very good condition. There are some light scratches to the back cover (inside & outside), but no dents.
