A fine quality Liverpool rack lever, in a heavy gold case, in fine condition.
MOVEMENT : Nice quality gilded rack ever fusee movement, with blued screws, diamond endstone, polished steel balance wheel and removable gilt brass dustcap. Signed and numbered (30088). All in excellent, almost mint, condition and running well.
DIAL : Gold dial, with applied numerals and multi coloured gold and silver decoration to the edge. A couple of light scratches by generally very good condition. Gold coloured hands.
CASE : Hallmarks for 18ct gold, Chester, 1820, maker LH/JH, and stamped with the movement number (30088). The band, stem and bow are cast in high relief, and the back is engine turned with a blank central cartouche. Good condition throughout, with just a couple of small dents to the inner cover, and one to the outer cover. The case snaps shut nicely and the crystal is fine.
The case (including crystal)weighs 39.7 gms.
