Gold case, 39 mm
Cylinder
Sold
A beautiful little Paris cylinder watch, with very stylish silver guilloche asymmetric dial, in a fine slim gold case. All in the style of Abraham-Louis Breguet.
MOVEMENT : Gilded cylinder movement. In good condition, and running well.
DIAL : An unusual and fine silver, asymmetric dial. Guilloche decoration to the centre and outside the chapter ring.
There is a light mark on the chapter ring at 11, another on the edge at 10, and a small dent at 1, but overall in good condition. The black numerals on the chapter ring have been repainted.
Blued steel Breguet type hands, slightly tarnished.
CASE : Slim, gold case, engine turned to the back, bezel and band. French gold marks on the stem and inside of both the back cover and cuvette. The cuvette, also gold, is signed (PETIT A Paris) and numbered (1505).
Just a light scratch to the inside of the back cover, but overall in very good condition, with the engine turned decoration still crisp. The crystal is fine, and both bezel and covers close correctly.
There are two makers named Petit listed in Paris in the early 19th century, one in 1812 and the other between 1814 and 1825 (probably the same one at different addresses).
