MOVEMENT : Gilded verge escapement, with engraved and pierced balance cock, silver regulator disk and and four square pillars.
Signed (Edw. Arnold, LONDON) and numbered (2974).
The movement is in good original condition and is running well.
DIAL : The fine white enamel dial is in excellent condition, with just a few very light surface scratches.
Later blued steel hands.
INNER CASE : Silver, with hallmarks for London, 1771, maker’s mark RP..
In very good condition throughout. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut. The high dome bull’s eye crystal is also in good condition, with just a couple of scratches.
The pendant has been reattached and there is a little wear to the top of the stem.
OUTER CASE : Silver pair case with marks matching the inner. The back is nicely engraved with a monogram.
In good condition throughout.
Te outer case contains three Norfolk watch papers, two for Norwich and one for the village of Southrepps.
Edward Arnold is listed in London from 1737 until 1775.
