A late 18th century verge, in very good overall condition.
MOVEMENT : Gilded movement with verge escapement, the balance cock finely engraved and pierced, and with a vase to the neck. Silver regulator disk and blued steel screws. Four round pillars.
Signed (Jas. Williams, LONDON) and numbered (12721).
The movement is in very good condition and is running well.
DIAL : A fine white enamel dial.
In excellent condition.
Nice matching skeletonised gold hands.
INNER CASE : Silver, with hallmarks for London, 1797, and maker’s mark IB.
Good condition throughout, with just a little wear to the bow
The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut correctly. The bull’s eye high dome crystal is in good condition.
OUTER CASE : A silver pair case with silver and maker’s marks matching the inner.
In good overall condition. The catch, catch button and hinge are all fine and the bezel snaps shut, though with a slight gap. Just a few light scratches on the back.
