Unusual half hunter style pair cased verge, with heavy silver cases, all in particularly fine overall condition.
MOVEMENT : Signed (Sam. Newnes) and numbered (686) gilt brass verge movement, with four round pillars, engraved and pierced balance cock and engraved plate. Blued steel regulator disk and screws.
The balance cock and plate are very finely pierced and engraved, with a mask at the neck of the balance cock.
The movement is in very good original condition and is running well.
DIAL : White enamel half hunter dial, with inner and outer chapter rings.
In almost mint condition, with just a few very small light scratches.
Half hunter style minute hand and plain spade hour hand. There is an old repair to the minute hand.
INNER CASE : Silver, hallmarked for Birmingham, 1821, maker HH.
A heavy case, in very good condition throughout. Just a slight bruise to the edge of the back. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut. The small crystal has a few light scratches, and appears to be original.
OUTER CASE : Silver with matching hallmarks to the inner.
Again a good heavy case, in perfect condition. The catch, catch button and hinge are all fine and the case snaps shut securely.
