A beautifully decorated, mid 18thc., gold London verge.
MOVEMENT : Gilded movement with verge escapement, the balance cock finely engraved and pierced with scrolls and bird, with a mask at the neck. Silver regulator disk and four square baluster pillars.
Signed (Isac. Roberts) and numbered (1235).
The movement is in very good condition, and is running well.
DIAL : White enamel dial.
In good condition, but with 3 light hairlines radiating from the centre.
Good blued steel beetle and poker hands,.
INNER CASE : Gold, tested as high carat, unmarked or very rubbed.

Good condition throughout. Just one tiny dent visible on the inside only.
The hinge is fine and the bezel shuts nicely. The high dome crystal is fine.
OUTER CASE : Gold repousse, set with grey banded agate panels. Again the gold tests as high carat.
The repousse work is in good condition, with very little wear and no damage or repairs. The agate is complete, though with 2 cracks across the panels in the bezel, and another 2 in panels in the band. The hinge, catch and catch button are fine and the bezel snaps shut properly.
Isaac Roberts is listed at Compton Street, London from 1762 and died in 1774, though this watch is a little earlier than that.
