A late 18th century Paris verge in a fine gold and blue enamel case, pearl set to back and front.

MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with engraved and pierced balance bridge, large silver regulator disk, four round pillars and blued steel screws.

Signed Vauchez A PARIS and numbered 396.

In excellent condition and running well.

DIAL : Original signed white enamel dial. In very good condition, with just a few very light scratches.

Fine gold hands.

CASE : A beautiful gold case in good condition. Stamped on the stem with the movement number 396.

Gold band highlighted with blue enamel. Pearl set rings, each with rope twist borders, and a central panel on the back of blue guilloche enamel.

The hinges are fine and the bezel flips open when the stem is depressed.
The high dome crystal is fine.
The case is in very good condition, with just a few light scratches to the enamel back, one small chip to the blue enamel edge decoration, and an old solder repair to the gold rope twist on the front bezel at 9.

The Vaucher (or Vauchez) family originally came from Fleurier in Switzerland, and produced a large number of skilled watchmakers.
