A Liverpool rack lever, in a silver case, with subsidiary seconds dial.
MOVEMENT : Gilded rack lever fusee movement, with blued screws, diamond endstone and removable gilt brass dustcap.
The stop lever, on the side of the dial at 7, allows the movement to be stopped and restarted.
Signed “JOHN CRAGG, Liverpool” and numbered (1071).
All in good original condition, and running well.
DIAL : Cream enamel, with subsidiary seconds. In very good condition.
Gilt hands and blued steel seconds (a little short),.
CASE : A silver case with hallmarks for Chester, 1820, maker TA. Gold hinges.
Good condition except for a two bruises on the back edge at around 9.. The case snaps shut nicely and the crystal is fine.
John Cragg is listed in Liverpool in 1822.
