A late 18thc. verge watch, with polychrome dial, in particularly good condition.

MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with engraved and pierced balance cock. Four square pillars and silver regulator disk.

Running well.

Signed Wm. Porter, Burton and numbered 2170.

DIAL : A polychrome enamel dial, with hunting scene around the chapter ring. Good early steel beetle and poker hands

In excellent condition, with no repairs and just some light scratches.

INNER CASE : Silver, hallmarked for London 1777, maker’s mark RR.

In good condition. The hinge is fine and the bezel closes properly. The high dome bull’s eye crystal has some scratches but no chips.

OUTER CASE : Silver, with no hallmarks.

The silver is again in good condition. The hinge, catch button and catch are all fine and the case snaps shut correctly.
