A French verge in a gilt case, with a well painted enamel plaque to the back.

MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with engraved and pierced balance bridge, large regulator disk and four round pillars.

Signed Fres. Esquivillon & De Choudent.

There is some tarnishing to the gilding, but in generally good condition and running well.

DIAL : The signed white enamel dial is in good condition, and has probably been restored (nicely done).

Blued steel hands.

CASE : A good heavy gilt case, marked on the inside with case number 3219, case maker’s mark JO? and LETON (meaning gilt).

The enamel plaque on the back shows an artist at his easel, accompanied by a lady, all within a finely decorated border.

The metalwork is all in good condition, with most of the gilding still intact. The bow, stem, hinge and catch are all fine and the bezel snaps shut.

The enamel plaque on the back is in good condition, though there is one star crack at the bottom of the lady’s red dress.

The high dome crystal is good
