This is a late 18thc. coach watch with verge escapement, in a gilt case.
MOVEMENT : The large gilded fusee verge movement has a plain balance cock with endstone, Bosley type regulator and four round pillars. It is large and heavy, with the fusee chain measuring 14.5 inches.

In very good condition and running well.
DIAL : The white enamel dial is good, with a few light scratches, a mark on the edge at 12 and a couple of flakes around the winding aperture.
Blued steel hands with a little corrosion.
CASE : Gilt metal, with case maker JPB stamped on the inside. Also stamped LETON so this case was probably made on the Continent.
The case is in very good condition, with no dents, other damage or significant wear to the gilding. The hinges are fine and the bezel closes correctly. The crystal has a few light scratches and is a little loose but otherwise good.
Christopher Pinchbeck II was the son of the famous clockmaker and inventor of the zinc copper alloy which resembles gold and was known as ‘Pinchbeck’.
