A Chester rack lever, in silver pair cases.

MOVEMENT : Gilded rack lever fusee movement, with blued screws, diamond endstone and removable gilt brass dustcap.

Signed Arthr. Briars, CHESTER and numbered 277.

All in very good original condition, and running well.

DIAL : White enamel dial.
In good condition, with one tiny edge knock at 4 and a light hairline running across the centre from 10 to 4.

Nice gold hands.

INNER CASE : Silver, with hallmarks for Chester 1818, maker’s mark KM?.

All in very good condition, though there is a worn and indecipherable name engraved on the back. The bezel snaps shut correctly.

The high dome bull’s eye crystal is fine.

OUTER CASE : A silver pair case, with hallmarks and maker’s mark matching the inner.

The silver is in very good condition. The hinge and catch are fine and the case snaps shut.
