Gilt brass base, with underpainted horn covering and silver rims and pins.
The horn is underpainted to resemble tortoiseshell and with seaweed and butterflies added.

Good unrestored condition. The covering on the back is excellent with just a few short cracks and no pins missing. Te covering on the bezel is also complete, and with just two silver pins missing. The hinge and catch are fine and the case snaps shut nicely.
