18thc.  Shell & Gilt Outer Case

Diameter 49 mm, inner bezel diameter 41.5 mm, inner depth to bezel 19 mm.

Gilt brass base, shell covering and gilt rims and pins.

The covering is complete, with one crack, on the back, and with one small chip and a section missing (1.5 cm.) on the bezel. Otherwise in good condition. And with a good colour, and just a few surface scratches.

The gilding to the metal work is worn, and the brass pins are almost all present with just a few missing.

The hinge and catch are fine and the case snaps shut nicely.
