Gilt Pair Cases with Dial & False Plate

DIAL : White enamel dial with false plate. Both appear to be original to the case.

The dial is in good condition with no repairs, but a light hairline across the top from 10 to 2, and a small chip on the edge at 2.

INNER CASE : Gilt brass. Diameter 47 mm, inner diameter 42 mm, inner depth to dial plate base 12 mm.

Maker’s mark IE.

Good condition. The hinge has repairs to the outer sleeves, but is strong and the case snaps shut. The stem and bow are original.

The gilding is complete on the inside but mostly worn through to the brass on the outer surfaces.

The high dome bull’s eye crystal is good.

OUTER CASE : Gilt brass, with maker’s mark matching the outer.

In good condition throughout, though again the hinge has been repaired. The catch and catch button are complete and the bezel snaps shut.

The gilding has worn with the brass showing through in most places.
