18thc.  shagreen outer case

Diameter 59 mm, inner bezel diameter 52 mm, inner depth to bezel 21 mm.

Gilt brass base, with green shagreen covering, gilt rims and ornamental pins.

Good unrestored condition. The shagreen is in good condition, with a nice green colour. There are a few small areas of wear, but generally very good.
There is even wear to the gilt rims and pins. There are a few pins missing.

The hinge and catch button are fine but the end of the catch spring has broken off, so the bezel does not snap shut.
